Countless gamers love Halo. A small subset of that group met their true love on Halo. Today, the day we celebrate love, affection, and all things related to our favorite science fiction video game franchise, we are featuring couples whom all have one thing in common—they met on the virtual battlefield of one of the six Halo titles. Please enjoy this snapshot into the wonderful world of SickNdehed and PsychoVandal, as told by SickNdehed.

The story of how we met is an interesting one as it seems fated on so many different levels. In December of 2004, while playing Halo 2, one of John's friends had been playing on his gamertag. He added me to PsychoVandal's friends list without letting John know. Seeing a name on his friend's list he didn't recognize piqued his interest. Who was SickNdehed? Destined to know, PsychoVandal's recon mission began.

After playing a few games together, small talk between matches became long talk which turned into phone talk. Although neither of us recall the first map we played on, Zanzibar holds a special place in our hearts. It was the map PsychoVandal always waited for me on, where we spent most of our time getting to know each other, and where we said our hellos and goodbyes for the night.

After four months of getting to know each other on Halo and before ever meeting in person, we decided to start dating. On our three year anniversary, John proposed. It made perfect sense for it to be a Halo-themed wedding. We may not have met if it wasn’t for Halo, and I felt that deserved to be celebrated during our wedding. We got married on 1/17/09.
